About our site

We created chihuahua-sweaters.com to be a centralized place for learning about sweaters for our little dog friends. But as we started the site, we realized we should add all kinds of info, not just sweaters. We will be adding content to the site and hope to keep growing, so bookmark us and stop by again!

About the breed

A Chihuahua is a very small dog, around 6 pounds with the attitude of a much larger dog. It has large dark round eyes and also large ears that tend to stay erect. It is a stout little dog, longer than it is tall. The dog is generally short-haired although there are long-haired ones as well. A Chihuahua's tail usually curls over it's back or off to the side. Their heads are apple-shaped.

Chihuahua puppies have a soft spot on the top of their head where the bone of the skull has not completely closed. This usually closes as they grow older.

Due to their alertness, intelligence and size, they are adaptable to a different environments like small apartments.

They tend to become attached to a single owner and show great devotion to that one person, even showing jealously towards other pets or humans. They are not suited to be small childrens' pets due to their small size.

They will sometimes confront larger animals as they do not seem to have a concept of their own small size. Therefore a Chihuahua should be supervised closely when outside. They are sometimes attacked by birds of prey, coyotes and even other large dogs due to their small size.
